Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs E-Class

Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Which Luxury Car Wins in Flemington, NJ?

Mercedes-Benz makes cars with elegant interiors and athletic handling. Whether you're looking for a sedan, a coupe, or a convertible, our models will dazzle you with their innovative tech features and plush materials. The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class are two of the most popular luxury cars we carry at Mercedes-Benz of Flemington. To help you choose between these vehicles, we built the following on-brand comparison.

Performance

Engines/Acceleration

You'll have no trouble keeping up with other cars on Route 22 in Readington with the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It comes standard with a turbocharged 255-horsepower four-cylinder engine, but a 402-horsepower mild-hybrid motor is available. Either engine moves this compact car with authority.

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a midsize car, but it also comes standard with a turbocharged 255-horsepower engine. An optional 362-horsepower mild-hybrid engine gives it more zip for passing.

Ride and Handling

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class has accurate steering and reassuring brakes that make it thrilling to drive on winding roads in Washington, NJ. Available 4MATIC® all-wheel drive gives it a firm road grip, even on wet or icy streets. The C-Class also provides a silky ride, due to its sophisticated front-strut and multilink rear suspension.

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class glides softly over bumpy roads on its multi-link front suspension with coil springs. Available adaptive dampers make its ride even gentler. The E-Class's responsive steering keeps body roll to a minimum around turns.

Gas Mileage

Since the price of gas is constantly fluctuating, it helps to have a fuel-efficient car. Lebanon, NJ drivers will appreciate that the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class earns 25 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway when equipped with the base engine and rear-wheel drive. Models with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive get 24 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.

Since the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a bigger car, it's not quite as efficient. Models with the base engine and rear-wheel drive return 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Equipping the E-Class with 4MATIC® all-wheel reduces its fuel economy numbers to 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

Interior

Cabin Materials

A luxury car should pamper you with exquisite cabin materials and comfortable seats. The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a top-notch interior that's awash in wood and aluminum trim. Simulated leather upholstery comes standard, but authentic leather seats are available.

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is bristling with premium materials, including genuine matte wood and leather trim. E-Class coupe and convertible models come standard with authentic leather upholstery, while E-Class sedans come with synthetic leather seats. Nappa leather upholstery and massaging front seats are available.

Passenger Space

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class seats five passengers in sedan models and four people in the coupe and convertible versions. There's ample head- and legroom in both rows of its well-cushioned seats. Backseat passengers enjoy 37.5 inches of headroom and 36.0 inches of legroom in the C-Class.

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class also seats five people in sedan versions and four passengers in coupe and convertible variants. Tall people in Clinton, NJ will like that the E-Class has 37.6 inches of rear headroom and 36.2 inches of backseat legroom. Both the E-Class and the C-Class come standard with heated, power-adjustable front seats.

People who often load up their car with items they bought from the Flemington Circle Shopping Center will want the Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan, which has a 13.1 cubic-foot trunk. E-Class coupe models have 10 cubic feet of trunk space, while convertible variants have a 9.5 cubic-foot trunk.

Infotainment Systems

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class also comes with the latest MBUX infotainment system. However, it has twin side-by-side 12.3-inch displays that dominate its dashboard. The system responds to voice commands in natural speech, so Readington drivers can control it hands-free. Unlike the C-Class, the E-Class comes standard with a navigation system.
